OUR MISSION... In a word, TRUTH !
So, what are the goals of BibleTruthForToday?
CLARIFY - There are many issues in "Christianity" today - theological/doctrinal issues, moral issues, music issues, etc. There are some people who have no idea what the issues really are. For those people, we hope to provide concise clarification as to what the issues are, and to provide resources (often, links to other sites) to assist the person who desires to further investigate the issues from a Biblical perspective. There are other people who know what some of the issues are but have not been able to put them into proper perspective and perhaps have been unable to see what can be done about the issues. We hope to contribute to "clearing the air", not just "muddying the waters", providing a Biblical perspective on the issues.
CLASSIFY - This site is not attempting to put forth a "systematic theology". However, there are doctrines (teachings) that are interrelated and we hope to make those connections apparent in some type of organized fashion. Furthermore, practices flow from doctrines. What we believe determines what we do. Therefore, we intend to make apparent the practices that result from specific doctrinal positions.
IDENTIFY - Visiting any good-size town or any city one can easily see the vast numbers and varieties of churches. Watching television, one can easily see that there is a very wide range of "ministries" - one very different from the next. So, what ARE the differences? Who believes what? Who practices what? Without any malicious intent to stereotype, or "pigeon-hole", any person, group, ministry or church, this site intends to identify which beliefs and practices are associated with which specific people, groups, ministries and churches. To the extent that we see error (when compared to the Scriptures) we will identify the error and attempt to show, or to direct you to, a fuller explanation of what we believe to be the Biblical truth.
EDIFY - Some people are motivated to prayerfully "dig" into the Scriptures - to mine for truth - and we applaud that. Others need to be reminded and encouraged to do so. We at BibleTruthForToday contend that (a) there IS such a thing as absolute truth, (b) that absolute truth CAN be known, because God has revealed it, and that (c) truth DOES matter, it IS important, and it DOES affect our lives in every way. Ignoring truth does not change truth. We want to encourage ALL who visit this site to "be diligent to show yourselves approved (unto God), workmen that need not be ashamed" so that each one can know the Truth which sets us free. We want to "contend for the faith" in such a way that those who are already saints will be edified (strengthened) for the spiritual battles in this life, and those are are not saints will come to understand the true gospel and be obedient to it!
We realize that as we point out error, some people may be offended. We have not set out with a purpose of offending, and we hope that nothing we present will be done so with an offensive spirit. But, be that as it may, we fully recognize that the truth will be offensive - for this we make no apology. We want to be kind, but without compromising the truth.
Our prayer is that (1) God's Holy Spirit will keep us at BibleTruthForToday in the truth - knowing the truth, believing the truth and living the truth, (2) that truth will be made known to many as they utilize this site, and that (3) many will be set free as a result of knowing The Truth.
There IS such a thing as absolute truth - it is revealed by God to us in the Bible. Therefore, God's Word (the Bible) is totally relevant and necessary for us today. According to the Bible itself, the things recorded there are recorded as examples for us (both good and bad examples). In addition, the entire Bible is profitable for us - profitable by supplying us with sound doctrine and instruction in righteousness as well as serving to reprove and correct error and sin. Our responsibility is to learn what God says, believe what God says, and obey what God says. Therefore, our goal at BibleTruthForToday is to present what God says and to encourage you to believe and to obey God so that He will be rightfully honored and we can each receive the blessings God intends for us to enjoy.
God desires/demands truth!
Psalm 51:6 "Behold, You [God] desire truth in the inward parts..."
John 4:24 "God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”
There is a lack of truth!

Hosea 4:1 "For the LORD brings a charge against the inhabitants of the land: There is no truth or mercy or knowledge of God in the land."
Romans 1:25 speaks of those "...who exchanged the truth of God for the lie..."
2 Timothy 3:7 speaks of those who are "always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth."
2 Timothy 3:8 speaks of those who "also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, disapproved concerning the faith;
2 Timothy 4:4 speaks of those who "will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables."
John 18:38 "Pilate said to him, What is truth?"
Where do we find Truth?
God's Word is Truth!
John 17:17 "Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth."

Therefore, our prayer, desire, and commitment are as follows:
Psalm 86:11 "Teach me Your way, O LORD; I will walk in Your truth..."
Psalm 119:30 "I have chosen the way of truth..."
Ephesians 4:15 "but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ "
